The faces used in this piece and "Bird Man Love" were purchased together as a set from the 20's(the antique store owner refused to separate them saying they had been together for years). With this I decided to keep them connected. These sister pieces were heavily influenced by African mythology where the woman is depicted as a Vessel and the man as a Bird Man. They are dark pieces intended to be heavy and conjure up magic.
