Elijah's Violin
Mixed Media Fairy Tale Box
with glass and found objects

28"h x 18"w x 5"dThe story of a young princess who received from her father the King a magical violin upon return from his travels seemed suited for this vanity box. A doll was used whose dress I made from dried roses. In the glass reflection we see the magic swirl leading upwards to where her prince enters her window. Little found objects placed around the box are symbolic images to this story. This piece evolved over a years time while I searched for the perfect objects for the story.
